SINGAPORE: Three pedestrians were killed in an accident at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 near Yio Chu Kang MRT station on Monday (Apr 23) morning, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
Authorities said they responded to the accident involving a bus and a lorry at about 9.30am.
Two of the pedestrians were extricated from underneath the lorry using a rescue lifting airbag, said SCDF, adding that the three victims were declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the lorry was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital "in serious condition", said SCDF.
Just now while walking to the bus stop a lorry suddenly drove up the pavement, brushing pass me(thankfully) and banged the railing before hitting a young man, knocking down the traffic light and after that hitting an old man. Both pronounced dead on spot.
