SINGAPORE: Archbishop Emeritus Nicholas Chia, the third leader of the Catholic Church in Singapore, died on Tuesday (Dec 17) at the age of 86.
In a post on Facebook, Cardinal William Goh said that Archbishop Emeritus Chia "passed away peacefully this evening at St Theresa’s Home".
"Arrangements for the public to pay respects and for the funeral proceedings will be announced when these are ready," said the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Singapore.
Earlier on Tuesday, it had posted on its social media channels that Archbishop Emeritus Chia was "critically ill".
