Your chances of becoming the next Miss Universe Singapore just got higher. In an effort to keep the pageant inclusive, organisers of Miss Universe Singapore announced that the competition is now open to all Singaporean women who are at least 18 years old. This means that even women who are married, divorced, or have children are eligible to enter. However, there is now a height requirement of 1.68m for contestants.

Previous iterations of the pageant stipulated that applicants had to be between the ages of 18 and 28, and must not be married nor had a marriage annulled.

The winner of Miss Universe Singapore 2024 will walk away with S$10,000 and represent Singapore at Miss Universe 2024.

This year's Miss Universe Singapore is the first under the pageant's new national director Elaine Daly, who formerly headed Miss Universe Malaysia.

Daly, who was Miss Universe Malaysia in 2003, said of this year's pageant: "This competition is more than just a crown; it’s a platform to inspire and advocate for causes close to your heart.

"To all the aspiring Miss Universes in Singapore, my message is this: Believe in yourselves! Be bold, be passionate, and never shy away from using your voice. Work hard, embrace your individuality, and most importantly, have fun on this incredible journey."

Co-organising Miss Universe Singapore 2024 is King Kong Media Production, an entertainment company headed by Singaporean actor-comedian Mark Lee.

Lee noted that the pageant allowed women to also make a mark in the entertainment industry, adding: "We are seeking not just beauty queens but future actresses as well, following in the footsteps of many renowned actresses who began their journeys as beauty queens."

Previous Miss Universe Singapore contestants who went on to pursue careers in entertainment include Eunice Olsen, Cheryl Chou and Rebecca Lim.

Those who are interested to join Miss Universe Singapore 2024 have until Jul 27 to register via this website. Do note that applicants must have resided in Singapore for at least six months prior to Sep 1, 2024 and must hold a Singaporean passport that's valid till at least Jun 1, 2025.
