SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said on Tuesday (Feb 27) that he will reshuffle the Cabinet after Parliament prorogues following the Committee of Supply (COS) debates.
Parliament will prorogue for a mid-term break following the Budget debate, which starts Tuesday, followed by the Committee of Supply debates which end on Mar 9.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Mr Lee said the Cabinet reshuffle is "to give the younger members more exposure and responsibility".
"This way, my successor will be supported by a stronger and more experienced team, committed to leading Singapore to a better and brighter future," he added.
In January, Mr Lee said that the Cabinet reshuffle will be "a significant step in exposing and building the new team of leaders", although no new deputy prime ministers are expected.
Mr Lee said that he is also asking the fourth-generation ministers to draft the Government's agenda for the President's Address when the new parliamentary session opens in May.
