Abovestone is a new rooftop bar in Soi Sukhumvit 63 that sits on the 3-4th floor of Bliss Ekkamai (Soi Ekkamai 12-14). Although it leans heavily into the 'chill hangout' concept, the place feels upscale and exclusive. Thanks to the ambiance, food & drinks, and service, you'll barely notice the difference between this venue and five-star hotel bars.

Inspired by the partner team's travels to destinations such as Japan and Europe, the venue uses mainly classy copper tones. After taking the glass elevator to the third floor, you'll arrive in the lounge area. Decorated with wood, leather, and stones, it feels luxurious and relaxing lit in dim orange lights. The lounge also features its small bar counter.

On the fourth floor, you'll find three individual zones. First, the open-air area allows you to take in the view of the Sukhumvit 63 Road and the surrounding residential areas. Then, there's the cozy indoor nook that features a 'starlit sky' with blue lights on the ceiling. It's a befitting transition to the last zone, the stageside seatings.

Hidden in Soi Silom Soi 3, a place where if you walk past you have to stop and look back. Because it's a cool vibe bar that attracts people right from the door. The restaurant we're talking about is Pili Pala, the #drunkenroom cocktail bar in Silom.

Pili Pala is a small bar hidden in Soi Silom 3 that you must stop and look when you walk past. Because in front of the store there is a young male character as big as a mirror, standing holding a glass, smiling brightly. It's like he's inviting us to come in and have a drink. Siwilai, the multifaceted creative group responsible for sprouting some of Bangkok’s most recognizable hangs, is launching the all-day Siwilai Radical Club in Thonglor.

Siwilai Radical Club’s tangerine exterior is hard to miss—and it’s garnered a few curious glances from Thonglor pedestrians.

The orange facade peels back into a spacious restaurant and cozy dining area, the Dining Room. The kitchen opens at 8am, ready to serve some coffee and healthy breakies. A sure hit with the Thonglor early risers, visitors can check out their breakfast sandwiches and pastries as well as the quinoa bowls with seared salmon.

Come evening, the venue prepares a “New Age Thai'' dinner. The ingredients are sustainably sourced from all over the country. Highlights are the single bite salmon tartare with crispy fish skin, a generous plate of fried chicken wings with red curry, and the miang kham-style tomahawk pork chops served with betel leaf and chili paste.

But it’s not just the Dining Room, this spot oozes 70’s-style disco vibes. Wednesdays to Saturdays, the Discotheque club features a wild dance floor with a cutting-edge sound system engineered by Norwegian sound studio NNNN and NYC-based Ojas. Hop on the checkerboard dance floor under a looming disco ball and turn the Dining Room into the Discoteque.

Working with Bali-based Space Available Studio, Indonesian architecture atelier Sidarta and Sandjaja, and MORE (a program that transforms waste into valuable and eco-friendly resources), Siwilai was able to construct their orange exterior from over five tons of compressed industrial waste, and cover the 500 square meters interiors in recycled plastic.

Established in 2014, Siwilai group aims to usher a new era of urban Thai lifestyle with their cafes, selected stores, and social clubs.

Bangkok's newest nightclub, Baccarat, has opened at the Davis Hotel and is another spot for the club kids to add to their list.

All of the shareholders are close friends with backgrounds in the nightlife, music, and food and beverage sectors, and one of the primary investors, was responsible for designing the venue's sexy and moody decor.

With red neon lines following the ceiling, plush velvet sofas lining the room around the fireplace, and vibrant pop art murals serving as a backdrop, Baccarat is decorated in shades of green and yellow to give off old-school New York vibes.

The ambiance is cozy, and the place heats up with all the candelabras, soft candlelight, blankets, and a crackling fireplace to create a classic winter in New York atmosphere.

It’s not just pretty fixtures for the pictures, either. The club is bringing some serious music firepower for its launch. To provide the highest sound quality everywhere in the venue, the club has invested over B4 million in state-of-the-art sound gear. Over the coming weeks, the club will see some international and local DJs like Fred Canal, Ballistic, Lonely Girls Club, DJ Kade, and Kartypartyy hit the decks.

Baccarat, named for the well-known card game, has a clever cocktail menu with four signature drinks that will change every two months. For a fruity flavor profile, there's Baccarat Pod (B490) with vodka, vermouth, peach syrup, and raspberry puree. For a more spirit-forward concoction, opt for the Out of Luck (B490) with bourbon, vermouth, campari, coffee, and orange. There is also a good supply of Kendall Jenner's 818 tequila, which has lately begun stocking in Thailand.

Platform Thonglor, found in the center of Thonglor on Soi Sukhumvit 55, merges old-world charm with modern features to suit its locomotive-themed decor.

Here, old-school fixtures give off retro vibes with strobe lighting along the ceilings, circular leather-upholstered sofas, and neon blue lighting. Train-themed spots are all the rage, with the likes of Q&A in Asoke and Echelon opened earlier this year.

For drinks, their cocktail menu is inspired by the 1930s with a dash of Platform 9¾ (a nod to Harry Potter), boasting eight signature cocktails (all B390) along with the classics. There’s also premium champagne, such as Armand de Brignac and Dom Perignon, as well as top-shelf liquors that are available in various sizes.

The rooftop bar offers all the drinks you would like, from beers to cocktails. And there is a food menu with some really good Thai dishes. The terrace is quite large with lots of seating, and even a small rooftop pool in the middle.

Sometimes there are live jazz and acoustic bands or DJs playing tunes, and the atmosphere and service is as friendly as you like.
